for everyone
As the conclusion of Messiah Complex draws near, let's take a look back at the exact moment where all the mutants' troubles of being an "endangered" species began, in one of biggest "HOLY SH*T" moments that shook the very foundations of the MARVEL Universe (always wanted to say that. Heh.)

THE SCARLET WITCH DECIMATES MUTANTKIND TO THE BRINK OF EXTINCTION

"No More Mutants"-The Scarlet Witch

HOUSE OF M #7 of 8 (2005)
Already losing her mind, The Scarlet Witch goes way over the edge upon seeing the seemingly lifeless body of her beloved brother (Quicksilver) in the hands of their father (Magneto). Distraught and with no hope left for Mutants, she uses her reality-warping powers to wipe-out an overwhelming portion of the mutant population.

I'm enjoying Messiah Complex a lot. But I'm still waiting for Pietro to make his move. And Magneto. And OK, even the Witch.

Di ko na nasundan ang Messiah Complex. Kahit nga Civil War, sa WIkipedia ko na lang nabasa. Bibili na lang ako collected edition, lolz. But House of M is one of the craziest arc ever made in Marvel.

i heard that magnus and his children won't make an appearance anytime soon. i forgot what they said about magnus but clearly wanda's depowered and an amnesiac...

i loved the recent twist. the traitor.

but where's storm's input? she is/was a leader. and rogue too....

we got 3 issues left...

They're giving Cyclops right now his shot for glory. Clearly, Storm has to take a back seat for the mean time.

I read somewhere about Pietro and Rictor playing huge parts in Messiah Complex. THEY LIED! Or.. did they? dun dun DUNNNN

Maybe somebody cut a deal with Mephisto and retconned them out of existence... In exchange for someone's marriage of course. Heh.

I'm hoping they bring back wanda , They need to finish wanda's story after House of M, so far the only leads of seeing wanda again would be over at the new Young Avengers series coming out this year...

Here's a question - Since Mantis & Wanda were the 2 candidates for being the Celestial Madonna a long time ago, Who's do you think is the more powerful now...????

Wait, sabi no more mutants. ano mangyayari kay wolverine? nasaloob pa niya ang mga bakal. Aaaargh! Tapos patay na siya. Di ba ganun dapat ang mangyayari?

Yup, by a gruesome death of adamantium poisoning. Heh. Luckily, Wolverine was one of the few who retained his mutant powers. ^_^
ryderaquino wrote on Jan 7
is there a percentage on the mutant population that retained their powers? like 5% or something? (all five percent from the x-men? sorry, didn't follow this arc!)

I'm not sure about the exact figure.. but what used to be millions of mutants, went down to just a few hundred. Like space dolphins!
ofpiesandtarts wrote on Jan 10, edited on Jan 10
according to this here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M-Day there were around 198 mutants left from almost half a million meaning 99% of mutants really did vanish or got deflowered. I mean de powered. hehe.

I thought there were more than half a million mutants around the world.. before M-Day that is.. hehe!

oh very informative! damn, blob tried to commit suicide for being depowered and having all the excess skin still? man the must've sucked! i'd love to see a panel of that! something akin to fat bastard losing weight in the end of austin powers 3?

Thanks to Yahoo! and a comic geek friend. :p

I thought they sucked the adamantium out of Wolverine a while back? He went feral and everything---didn't that happen, or was I once in a Marvel world that I created myself, all by my lonesome? :(
comicbookgeek wrote on Jan 14
I remember Magneto siphoning all the adamantium from him... But I'm no expert on Wolverine, so I'm not sure how he got it back.. ^_^
ofpiesandtarts wrote on Jan 14
Wolverine agreed to be one of Apocalypse's four horsemen in return Apocalypse would bond adamantium to his skeleton again. Well that's how I remember it. But it would be better if you ask an expert. Anyway, this is so out of topic already. =)

Thanks for the info! Don't worry about being off-topic. Rarely do discussions here stay on track. He he.

I would say it's harsh but its not true, its such an easy dig.

Wanda was seen in the Endangered Species thing which sucked as a story arc cause it didn't do anything. She was unaware of anything she had done and seemed powered down.

probably the best thing that has boiled out of the house of M though. HoM put the mutants' backs against the wall. x-men seem to be at their best when their backs are against walls. i think MC did just that.
